Opal L. (Shelton) McGinty, age 91, an Atoka, OK resident was born on Wednesday, May 18, 1927, to Fred and Gertrude (Logsdon) Shelton at IN.  Opal passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Atoka, OK. She graduated high school in Brandenburg, KY. Opal was a Beautician. She proudly served in the Navy during WWII. She married Kenneth R. McGinty in September of 1946 in Louisville, KY. He preceded her in death in 2008. Opal is of the Catholic faith. She loved the lake and the beach. Opal also loved helping others.

Opal is survived by her grandson, Sean McGinty and wife Akiko of Bedford, TX; granddaughter, Ashley Green and husband Timothy of Galveston, TX; great grandsons, Akira McGinty of Bedford, TX, Ciaran McGinty of Bedford, TX; daughter-in-law,  Renee Feagans and husband Steve of Atoka, OK; sisters, Mildred Sabrie of Louisville, KY, Jean Heath of Sunnyvale, CA; special friend, Adilynn Long of Atoka, OK

Along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Opal is preceded in death by her parents, Feed and Gertrude (Logsdon) Shelton; her husband Kenneth McGinty and son, Kenneth R. McGinty.
