Paula Jean Rowland, age 65, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident, was born on Monday, July 22, 1957 to John Robert and Wilma Dean "Bobbie" (James) Rowland at Hobbs, NM.  Paula passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Denison, TX.  She attended Pittsburg Public School through the 8th grade and then graduated from Atoka High School.  Paula worked at the Atoka County Assessor's Office for several years and was elected in 1990 as the County Assessor.  Following a life altering car accident, she resigned within a couple of years.  She was a Christian, mostly enjoyed spending time with friends and family and spoiling her grandchildren.  She was a Mickey Mouse memorabilia collector and also enjoyed doing word search puzzles.
Paula is survived by her son, James Robert "Jamey" Holstine and Laci Moreland of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Jaggyr and Maxlyn Holstine; niece, Ashley Cobb of Judsonia, AR; nephews, Gerald Rowland of Kiowa, OK, Jalen Rowland of Oneida, NY, along with several great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Carla Rowland of Atoka, OK; uncles, A.C. Rowland and wife, Mary Hellen of Lubbock, TX, Charlie Rowland and wife, Rozell of Pittsburg, OK, Cotton Rowland of Ada, OK, Randal Rowland and wife, Kelly of McGee Valley, OK, Larry James and wife, Penny of Pine Top, OK; aunt, Ann Rowland of Hobbs, NM; special friend, Kara Edge of Atoka, OK, along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bobbie (James) Rowland; brother, Gerald "Jerry" Rowland; uncle, George Rowland; aunts, Patsy (Rowland) Laird, Mary (Rowland) Kellams, Imogene (James) Nichols.
