Peggy Ann Owens, age 75, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Saturday, January 13, 1945, to Harlis and Opal (Gibbins) Deaton, at Atoka, OK. Peggy passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Coalgate, OK. She attend a school in California, but moved home and graduated from Atoka high school. Peggy worked as a CNA at Atoka, Coalgate, and Caddo nursing homes. She married Wayne Owens on Saturday, May 26th, 1962 at Iron Stob in Atoka, OK. They celebrated 58 wonderful years of marriage this year. Peggy was a longtime Pentecostal, was a member of Blackjack Baptist Church for several years and was also a member of the Atoka Trail Riders. Her world revolved around her grandchildren. She was always cheering them on and encouraging them in everything they did. Peggy is Survived by her husband, Wayne Owens of the home in Blackjack, OK; daughters, Teresa Owens of Blackjack, OK, Karen Custar and husband Justin of Sharon, OK, Carla Douglas and husband Charlie of Blackjack, OK; grandchildren, Jaren Custar of Woodward, OK, John Custar of Eufaula, OK, Justin Custar and wife Haley of Weatherford, OK, Haley Gipson and husband Mark of Konawa, OK, Chase Douglas of Blackjack, OK, Chance Douglas of Blackjack, OK; great grandchildren, Brooklyn and another on the way, Peyton and Paxton, Carter; sisters, Linda Goff and husband Rufus "Sonny" of Atoka, OK, Betty Griffin of Florida, Phyllis Collins of Florida; brother, Mark Deaton of California. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Harlis and Opal (Gibbins) Deaton; granddaughter, Shannon Douglas; in-laws, Woodrow and Callie Owens
