Randall K Elrod, age 97, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Monday, November 15, 1926, to Elbert and Ida Ray (Caraway) Elrod, at Kemp, OK. Randall passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Durant, OK. He attended Kemp Public schools and obtained his GED. Randall was a Preacher for the Melba Avenue Church of Christ. He repaired watches in his younger years. Randall proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He married Freda Elrod in 1950 and enjoyed 8 years of marriage together before her passing in 1958. Randall married Betty Lou Elrod in 1960 and they celebrated 47 years of marriage before her passing in 2007. Randall was a minister of the Melba Avenue Church of Christ. He loved studying the Bible and writing his sermons. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.
Randall is survived by his grandchildren, Lori Thornhill and husband Harold of Bryant, AR, Traci Barger Ruffner of Raleigh, NC, Kelli Tye and husband Patrick of San Diego, CA, Mindi Hollowell and husband Hugh of Jackson, MS, Lance Barger and wife Kelcy of Sherwood, AR; 9 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and his Church family.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Ida Ray (Caraway) Elrod; wives, Freda Elrod, Betty Lou Elrod; daughters, Margaret Ann Barger, Jane Hamlin; grandchildren, Chad Hamlin; his siblings.
