Raygan Jay Calvert, age 45, a longtime Wapanucka and Atoka, OK resident, was born on Sunday, December 19, 1976, to Robert Darrell and Malinda Sue (Carroll) Calvert, at Ada, OK. Raygan passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Durant, OK. 45 years, 10 months and 20 days. He graduated from Atoka High School in 1995. He attended Murray State College and Kiamichi Vo Tech and completed the welding program. Raygan was a welder for Choctaw Nation, worked for his father in law at Rain Tight Gutters, worked for the Department of Corrections as a correctional officer and worked for Stuteville Ford. Raygan was baptized in the Church of Christ. He was a member of the Choctaw Nation and a volunteer fireman. He enjoyed team roping, working on the farm, and being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Raygan grew up on a tractor.
Raygan is survived by his parents, Robert Darrell and Malinda Sue (Carroll) Calvert of Wards Chapel, OK; children, Zachary Ty Calvert and wife Jackie of Atoka, OK, Brittany Springer and husband Auston of Kenefic, OK ; grandson, Cayden Ray Calvert of Atoka, OK; sisters, Maygan Butler and husband Stacy of Atoka, OK, Cindy Foran and husband Trevor of Atoka, OK; niece, Allyson Butler; nephews, Bryce Butler, Clancey Foran, Dinney Foran; grandparents, Robert "Tot" and Wanda Calvert; father in law, Jerry Presley of Durant, OK, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear loved ones.
Raygan is preceded in death by his aunt, Marleta Hardman; uncle, Dan Hardman; grandparents, Ray and Marlene Carroll
