Reve Bates, age 97, an Atoka, OK resident, was born on Saturday, April 14, 1923, to John Carlisle and Martha Ella (Bingham) Bates, at Bokoshe, OK. Reve passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Muskogee, OK. He received a high school diploma from Panama Public School and a bachelor's degree from A & M of Oklahoma. Reve was the owner and operator of Bates Brother Garage in Panama, OK. He became a automobile mechanical instructor at Mid American Votech in Wayne, OK after he finished college. Reve proudly served his country in the Navy Seabees. He married Margaret (Black) on Tuesday, June 22nd, 1943 in California. They celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage before Margaret's passing in September of 2006. Reve was a member of The Assembly of God in Panama and he also attended the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle pastored by Reverend Bill Daniels. He loved gardening, working on cars, and spending time with his family, especially his grand, great, and great great grandchildren. Reve is survived by his son, Troy Lee Bates and wife Magdalena of Hermosillo, Mexico; daughter, ReJeana Ruth (Bates) Valle of Atoka, OK; granddaughters, Karen Ann (Bates) Bradford and husband Billy of Moore, OK, Reva Weir and husband Darren of Gordonville, TX, Cristina Bates of Hermosillo, Mexico; grandson, Jamey Craig of Kingston, OK; great grandchildren, Jessika, Gabriel, Jakob, Chloe, Christopher, Matthew and wife Mandy, Andrew, Justin, Benjamin, Nicholas; great great grandchildren, Cecilia, Reve, Jude; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends. Reve was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Ella (Bingham) Bates; wife, Margaret Bates and siblings
