Richard Edward Taylor, age 92, a Wapanucka, OK resident. He was born on Sunday, February 7, 1932, to Perry "Bub" and Lillie E. (Kelly) Taylor, at home in Boggy Depot, OK. Richard went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at the VA Center in Ardmore, OK. He attended Boggy Depot School and graduated from Tushka High School on May 19, 1950. Richard owned the Mobil/Conoco gas station in Madill, OK for 38 years before settling in the Wilson Community raising cattle and loving the ranch life. Richard proudly served his country in The Army. He married June R. (Praytor) on Saturday, May 10th, 1952 at Tushka, OK. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before her passing on November 16, 2013. Richard was a member of the Wilson Baptist Church and became a Deacon on May 7, 1988. He also served as a volunteer fire fighter with the Wilson Community Fire Dept. Richard loved life, everyone he met, working hard, lending a helping hand, riding 4-wheelers and tractors. He loved being with his family, most of all his grandchildren. Richard loved the Lord and sharing his faith and giving advice on life, along with telling of all his adventures.
Richard is survived by his children, Dirk Taylor and wife Carol of Madill, OK, Ellen Peoples and husband Dean of Wapanucka, OK; sister, Vera Marable of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Robin Brister and husband Matt of Wapanucka, OK, Brad Taylor and wife Dara of Stillwater, OK, Richard Cook and wife Jessica of Wapanucka, OK, Cale Taylor and wife Christine of Plano, TX, Derick Peoples and wife Brooke of Lakeview, OH, Brittany Keller and husband Justin of Hastings, MI; great grandchildren, Kenzi Hartwell, Will Brister and wife Grace, Peyton Brister, Brylen Brister, Traevyn Cook, Melanie Cook, Evan Cook, Elek Taylor, Kagen Peoples, Husdon Peoples, Jacqueline Peoples, Zane Peoples, Harlo Peoples, Easton Keller, Oliver Keller; great great grandchildren, Grayson Brister, Chance Brister.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Perry "Bub" Taylor and Lillie E. Taylor-Phillips; wife, June Taylor; step father, Jim Phillips; siblings, Mary Ellen Taylor, Thurman Taylor, JB Taylor, Liddie "Mae" Meadows, DC Taylor, Mildred Taylor; grandson, Baby Taylor.
