Riley Dorsey Mayo, age 71, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Sunday, July 29, 1951, to Henry and Ophelia (Gray) Mayo, at Atoka, OK. Riley passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at McAlester, OK. He graduated from Atoka High School and attended Okmulgee Tech School. Riley was an Auto Mechanic and the Owner of Riley's Auto Repair. He also worked for Eddy Hyatt Garage and the firetruck company, American LaFrance in Ft. Worth, Texas. Riley proudly served his country in The Air Force. He married Brenda Lee Martin in 1976, they spent 6 years together. Riley was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on vehicles, sports, he loved watching tv, especially westerns, Nascar, and The Dallas Cowboys. Riley made the best country food and loved spending time with family, mostly his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Lee Mayo and wife Cindi Smith of Atoka, OK, Leslie Mayo and wife Melisa of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, LeaAnn Whitmire, Johnny Mayo, Noah Mayo, Lucas Mayo, Joy Mayo, Emily Mayo, all of Atoka, OK; special friend, Darrell Coats of Atoka, OK; mother of his children, Brenda Martin, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of many dearly loved friends.
Riley was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ophelia (Gray) Mayo; siblings, Elsie Mooney, Phillip Mayo, Ferman Mayo, Tom Mayo
