Obituary

Robert "Bob" Brown Alford, age 79, a longtime Caney, OK resident, who also lived in Valley Center, KS from 1960-1995, was born on Wednesday, December 18, 1940, to Arnold Allen and Lillie Francis (Tigert) Alford, at Caney, OK. Bob passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Durant, OK. He graduated from Caney High School. Bob was a rancher and was Vice President of sales for B.J. Alberts Co., Wichita, KS, selling misc. parts to the aircraft and oil and gas industries.  He married Lou Ella (Phillips) on Saturday, September 24th, 1960 at Mt Pleasant View in Tushka, OK. They celebrated 59 years of marriage. Bob was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, a member of the Gideons, also of the Cattleman's Association, served on the Valley Center School Board for 8 years, some of those were served as President of the school board. He was also an active Deacon of Calvary Baptist in Valley Center, KS. Bob enjoyed raising cattle, being outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren and watching basketball.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lou Ella Alford of the home in Caney, OK; family, daughter, Sharon Coleman and husband Dan of Valley Center, KS, Matthew Coleman and wife Crystal and children Tylee, Broxton, Danielle Vogt and husband Johnny and children Ella, Evan, Isaac, Clara, Alice Elias, Thayne Coleman, Elayna Coleman; son, Gary Alford and wife Darla Stephenson of Denver, CO, Tera Price and husband Alex and children Journey, Jourdan, Josclyn, Ashley Zoglman and husband Ryan and children Rylan, Colt, Huldon Tharp; daughter, Ann Banks and husband Jim of Wichita, KS, Bailey Banks and Ryan Hubbard and children Teagan, Rylee, Abby Banks; daughter, Paula Boese and husband Larry of Wichita, KS, Sammy Crawford and Chase, Emmie Boese; brothers, Jack Alford and wife Janice of Ft. Worth, TX, Carl Alford and wife Vickie of Thackerville, OK; sister, Mary Gay and husband Jim of Piedmont, OK; sisters in law, Trecia Alford of Caney, OK, Gayla Alford of Caney, OK, Vicky Alford of Caney, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Lillie Alford; brothers, Travis, Bud, Neal, Don, Wallace Alford; sister, Sammy Alford.
