Robert Lee Douglas, age 70, a Calera, OK resident, formerly of Atoka, OK, was born on Saturday, October 2, 1948, to Robert and Ida (Morningvey) Douglas, in Wichita Falls, TX.
Robert passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 in Durant, OK. He graduated from Atoka High School and went on to attend Murray State College and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Robert was a grocery clerk for Homeland/Safeway grocery store where he retired. He later became a sales representative for Pepsi. He married Christa "Chris" Lynn (Shields) on Sunday, May 23, 1971 in Atoka, OK. They have celebrated 47 years of marriage. Robert was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed watching Sooner football, dancing, fishing, loved his grandchildren, and watching their activities.
Robert is survived by his wife, Christa "Chris" Lynn Douglas of the home in Calera, OK; children, Sean Douglas of Atoka, OK; Shanna Douglas of Calera, OK; grandchildren, Jade Douglas of Sulphur, OK, Mikayla Douglas of Durant, OK, Darius Douglas of Durant, OK, Darika Douglas of Calera, OK; brothers, Ronald Douglas of Houston, TX, Donald Douglas and wife Gail of Denison, TX; along with numerous, nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters in law, cousins and many dear and loved friends.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Douglas; mother, Ida McJunkins; granddaughter, Dajae Thurman; step father, Labron McJunkins; sisters in law, Joyce Huddleston, Lynnetta Harrison, and Kathy Douglas; grandparents, Pearl and Ramie Wadkins, Katie White.
