Robert Leonard "Charley" Boley, age 83, a longtime Caney, OK resident, since 1983, moved there from Springfield, MO, was born on Wednesday, May 5, 1937, to Leonard Franklin and Odie Doris (Epperson) Boley, at Jefferson City, MO.
Charley passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at his home in Caney, OK. He graduated from Ft. Madison High School in Iowa. Charley was a lifelong over the road truck driver, after retirement he delivered trailers for Sundowner Trailers.
Robert proudly served his country in The Naval Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He married Ruby Jean Morton in 1957 at Hernando, MS, they were married 15 years. He later married Charlotte Jennings in 1982 at Springfield, MO, they celebrated 38 years of marriage. Charley was a member of Pleasant View Free Will Baptist. Charley enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He went to Iraq as a civilian truck driver for Haliburton Company. Charley served 17 years as councilman and Mayor at Caney, took care of Stewart Gammon Cemetery and raised lots of children and grandchildren.
Charley is survived by his wife, Charlotte Boley and grandson Conner Griffith of the home in Caney, OK; children, Randy Boley and wife Leslie of Springfield, MO, Vicki Boley Honeycutt and husband John of White House, TN, Brian Boley and wife Ruby of Gordonsville, TN, Stephanie Boley Dunlap of Caney, OK, Tonya Gibby and Crystal Gibby of Paris, TX, Robert Crewse and wife Gloria of Willow Springs, MO, Steven Crewse and wife Angie of Willow Springs, MO, Brad Jennings and wife Brooklyn of Durant, OK, Corey Spaulding and wife Diana of Antlers, OK, Stetson Jennings and wife Candice of Caney, OK, Michael Jennings and wife Bre of Wapanucka, OK, Arthur Jennings of Enid, OK, C.J. Bradford and husband Stetson of Caney, OK; granddaughter, Bailey Riley of Caney, OK; sister, Doris Etika and husband Terry of Ft. Madison, IA; brother, Johnny Boley and wife Lisa of Warsaw, MO; special friends, Ronnie and Roxie Bell of Caddo, OK, Butch and Pam Dickson of Tushka, OK, Eugene and Rita Woolf of Caney, OK, Mike and Kim Harkey of Caney, OK, Steve, Michelle and Melissa Gaylor of Atoka, OK; 42 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Charley was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Odie Doris (Epperson) Boley.
