Roland Lee Cooper, a Coalgate resident, was born on May 31, 1950, to Mose Sampson and Lorena Mae (Scott) Cooper, at Talihina, OK. He passed away on December 13, 2023 at Atoka, Oklahoma, at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 13 days. Roland graduated from Stringtown High School then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He worked for the City of Coalgate for 42 years. Roland married Patricia Ann Fobb at the Round Lake Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Centrahoma, Oklahoma, on June 27, 1971. Together they built a loving home with three beautiful children. Roland was a member of the Coal Creek Church and the Boiling Springs Church. He liked to fish and hunt. Roland loved to dance with his beloved wife, Patricia. His favorite times were spent playing with his grandchildren.
