Obituary

Ronald "Ronnie" Joe Sears, age 69, a Atoka, OK resident, was born on Monday, October 11, 1948, to James "Jim" R. and Jewel Dean (Beach) Sears, at Ada, OK. Ronnie passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at his residence in Atoka, OK. He graduated High School. Ronnie was a carpenter and disabled American Veteran. Ronnie proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He served from October 21, 1968 to  December 4, 1974. He was a combat Medic and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, NDS Medal, Vietnam Service with 4 Bronze Stars, Combat Medical Badge, Rep. of Vietnam Campaign ribbon with device, Parachutist Badge, Expert Badge with Rifle Bar and Pistol Bar and awarded the Purple Heart. His family is proud and thankful for his service.
Ronnie was of the baptist faith. He was a beautiful artist, avid baseball fan with the Rangers being team, loved going to the casino and was an excellent cook. Ronnie was a loving and generous son, brother, father and uncle. He would do any and everything for his family. He was a father figure to his nephews and nieces that needed him.
Ronnie is survived by his sister, Dana Page and husband Ron of Atoka, OK; brothers, Jerry "Cotton" Sears and wife Lena of Atoka, OK, Mike Sears and wife Joanna of Oklahoma City, OK; nephews, Terry Sears, Jeff Sears, Kevin Watson, Alex Hill, C.L. Sears, Bryan Sears, Jamie Sears; nieces, Sheila Pingleton, Gail Sears, Deanna Collins, Leslie Page, Dusty Kemp, Candeana Lemmond; along with great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Jewel Dean Sears; son, Jerry Don Sears; brothers, James Boyd Sears, Roger Wayne Sears; sister, Jimmie Dean (Sears) Showalter; sister in law, Joann Sears; nieces, Latisha Price Wanda Elaine Sears.
