Rosemary (Baker) Kirk

October 1, 1938 — May 30, 2026

Lake Jackson, Texas

Rosemary Baker Kirk was born 1 October 1938 and passed away 30 May 2026.

Born in Coalgate, Oklahoma, Rosemary spent her childhood moving frequently among the neighboring communities of Blocker, Blanco, Pittsburg, Alderson, and Krebs due to her father’s saw-mill business. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1955, and following her first marriage, she relocated to Angleton, Texas, for her husband's career. It was there that she raised her two sons. Rosemary later shared twenty-six wonderful years of marriage with Gary Kirk, until his passing, with whom she loved traveling and exploring the United States. For the last fifteen years of her life, Rosemary called Lake Jackson home, spending her final days there. A dedicated homemaker, she took immense pride in establishing a beautiful, welcoming haven. Rosemary loved to host, and people enjoyed being in her home, where she would stay up late engaging in deep, heart-to-heart conversations. Above all, she lived her life loving her family and friends with an unwavering loyalty and a fierce devotion.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister Barbara Ann Terrell of Abilene, TX; her two sons John Steven & Lauree James of Perkins, OK and Bobby & Linda James of Lake Jackson, TX; her grandchildren Wendy James, Heidi James Cerbone (husband Billy, children Molly & Vito), Amanda James Parker (husband Calvin, children Avery & Clayton), and Eric James (wife Mylie, children Everett & Charlotte); and a loved collection of nephews, nieces, and extended-family members across Texas and Oklahoma.

Rosemary is predeceased by her husband, Gary Bennett Kirk; her parents, Leon and Pernecia Baker originally of Coalgate, OK; her brother and wife, Leon & Susie Baker of McAlester, OK, her grandsons, Johney and Kevin James, her great-granddaughter, Katherine Nesbitt, and other loved family members.
