OBITUARY
Roy Douglas Symonds, age 60, a longtime Atoka, OK resident was born on Friday, August 27, 1965, to Augustus Jack and Rita Jean (Breeden) Symonds, at Ft. Smith, AR.
Roy passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Rattan, OK. He attended Lane School in his early years and then Atoka High School. Roy was a lineman all his working life and worked for several different companies. He married Shannon Lee (Leis) on Tuesday, June 9th,1992 at Redding, CA. Roy was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding Harley Motorcycles, and visiting different casinos, and enjoyed collecting old coins.

Roy is survived by his wife, Shannon Lee Symonds of Atoka, OK; significant other, Mallissa Claxton of Rattan, Ok; daughters, Shandra Symonds of Atoka, OK, Alayna Claxton of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Kyler Battice of Tulsa, OK, Kayden Wilkerson of Rattan, OK, Kobie Holiman of Antlers, OK; siblings, Jay Symonds and wife Phyllis of Claremore, OK, Kim Godwin of Ardmore, OK, Randy Long and wife Krissy of Coweta, OK, Karen Symonds of Okemah, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Roy is preceded in death by his father, Augustus Jack Symonds; mother and stepfather, Rita Jean (Breeden) Long and Pete Long; son, Shane Skyler Scott; brothers, Mike Symonds, Jackie Symonds; sister, Debbie Alexander.
