Ruby Pearl Barnes, age 97, an Indiahoma, OK resident, formerly a longtime Stringtown/Atoka resident, was born on Friday, June 25, 1926, to Jewel Tisdell, at Stringtown, OK. Ruby passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Lawton, OK. She attended Miller and Stringtown Schools. Ruby was a housewife and homemaker. She also worked as a cook in several restaurants in Stringtown and Atoka. She married Charles Arthur Barnes on December 23, 1944 in Atoka, OK. They celebrated many wonderful years of marriage before he preceded her in death. Ruby was of the Baptist faith.
Ruby is survived by her children, Emma Pearl Grist and Bobby Williams of Oklahoma City, OK, James Barnes of Ocala, FL, Tennie Castleberry and husband Jerry of Lawton, OK, Charles Barnes and wife Sara of Houston, TX, Rita Young of Indiahoma, OK, Kenneth Barnes and wife Vickey of Kingston, OK, Linda Burleson of Atoka, Ok, Debra Ludlow and husband Rick of Daisy, OK; along with several loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by her mother, Jewel Tisdell Hill; husband, Charles Arthur Barnes; grandparents, R.H. and Emma Tisdell; son, Curtis Barnes; granddaughter, Denise, Debra, Holly; brother, Audrey Tisdell.
