Rubye "Paulette" Hargis, age 64, an Atoka resident, was born on Tuesday, March 22, 1949, to Chester and Beatrice Eileen (Foster) Crownover, in Oklahoma City, OK. Paulette passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013 in Atoka, OK. She graduated from Weatherford High School in 1967, then Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education. Paulette worked as a social worker for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and also served as an EMT for several years in Atoka County. She was as a long-time volunteer for the American Red Cross and a member of Cornerstone Church. Paulette enjoyed watching sports, especially cheering on the OU Sooners and Southwestern Lady Bulldogs. She dearly loved children and animals, as well as acting in community theater and playing her guitar. Paulette is survived by her sister, Janet Girard and husband LeRoy of El Reno, OK; niece, Kelly Base and husband Darren of Geary, OK; and great niece, Brooke Base of Geary, OK.
