Rubye Ellen (Houston) Tate Ligon, age 87, an Edmond, OK resident was born on Tuesday, October 6, 1931, to Cairl James and Roxie B. (Parks) Houston, at Farris, OK.  Rubye passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Edmond, OK.

She attended Francis School, Farris Grade School and graduated from Little Pine High School.

Rubye was a homemaker and housewife. She married Edwin Kenneth Tate in 1949 at Holdenville, OK, he preceded her in death. On November 16, 1978, she married Thomas Earl Ligon in Holdenville, OK, he preceded her in death on April 17, 2011.

Rubye is survived by her daughter, Karen Renee Mariglia and husband Dennis of Chatsworth, CA; son, Kerry L. "Pete" Tate and wife Sue Darst of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Kelli O'Dea and husband Paul of Spring, TX, Jessica Tate of Norman, OK, Lee Anna Mariglia of San Francisco, CA, Justin Tate of Houston, TX, James Patrick Tate and wife Stephany Wade of Guthrie, OK; great grandchildren, Aedon O'Dea of Spring, TX, Carter Tate of Norman, OK, Kaeli Tate of Guthrie, OK, Tyler Tate of Guthrie, OK; along with other relatives and many dear friends.

Rubye was preceded in death by her parents, Cairl and Roxie B. (Parks) Houston; husbands, Kenneth Tate, Thomas Earl Ligon
