Sarah Maude McNeil, age 91, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident,  was born on Saturday, February 20, 1932, to William and Bertha (Allmon) Chism, at Atoka, OK. Sarah passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Atoka, OK. She attended Atoka Schools. Sarah was a homemaker and Business Owner of Star Hardware and Furniture with her husband Leon for 38 years. She married Paul Leon McNeil on Wednesday, August 13th, 1947, they spent 74 wonderful years together before his passing in 2022. Sarah was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Atoka. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Paul Dennis McNeil and wife Teresa of Atoka, OK; granddaughters. Shannon McNeil Kennedy and husband Bryan of Hennessey, OK, Crystal McNeil Cathey and husband Brian of Atoka, OK, Mindy McNeil Leary of Rollinsville, CO, Matthew McNeil and wife Rhonda of Sand Springs, OK; great grandchildren, Jacob Kennedy and Katelyn Kennedy of Hennessey, OK, Ezra Lynn Leary and Evelyn Leary of Rollinsville, CO, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dearly loved friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha (Allmon) Chism; husband, Paul Leon McNeil; son, Bruce Lynn McNeil; brothers, JD Chism, Tolbert Chism, Gene Chism; sisters, Edna Fitzgerald, Lorraine Haggard, Cora Wynell Chism
