Sherry Darlene (Sexton), age 55, a Durant, OK resident, formerly a longtime Atoka County resident, was born on Monday, January 8, 1968, to Paul Melvin and Loretta (Hall) Sexton Sr., at Talihina, OK. Sherry passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Atoka, OK. She attended Caney and Tushka Public Schools and graduated from Stringtown High School with the class of 1986. She then went on to attend Southern School of Beauty in Durant, OK. Sherry was a homemaker. She was a child of God and was a member of United Methodist Chihowa Okla Church in Durant, OK, previously a member of Gospel Lighthouse in Tupelo, proud member of Choctaw Nation and was involved in Choctaw Artistry and was a Choctaw Indian Princess in 1984 - 1985. Sherry enjoyed singing karaoke and loved painting and sewing.
Sherry is survived by her children, Shani Wilson and husband Wade of Crystal, OK, Stacie Kerns and husband Caleb of Pittsburg, OK, Gage Thunder and wife Tiffany of Wewoka, OK; grandchildren, Jake Wilkins, Kolton Wilson, Eden Wilson, Grace Kerns, Jett Kerns, Hope Kerns, Leighla Guest, Ezekiel Guest, Ahava Guest; mother, Loretta Pitts of Durant, OK; sister, Rita Diane Sexton McDougal of Durant, OK; brothers, Paul Melvin Sexton Jr. of Durant, OK, Christopher David Sexton III of Whitney, TX; uncles, Isaac Sexton and wife Judy of Tushka, OK, Tim Sexton and wife Shirley of Durant, OK; nephews, Frank Frensley of Durant, OK, Bobbie Frensley of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Frensley of Durant, OK, Dustin McDougal of Durant, OK; cousins, Lee and Joyce Watkins of Durant, OK, Barbara Swafford and husband Dan of Durant, OK, Tracy and Rhonda Glover of Durant, OK; along with other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Paul Melvin Sexton Sr.; grandparents, David and Ruth Sexton.
