Sommer Dawn Burke, age 37, a longtime Caney, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, February 2, 1983 at Ada, OK, she was the daughter of Robert and Sheryl Simpson.
Sommer passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Tushka High School in 2002.
Sommer worked in childcare. She attended Caney Baptist Church. Sommer was involved in MDA (Jerry's Kids), loved to talk, playing games on her computer, helping her mother with the after school program, loved children, spending time with people, she never met a stranger.
Sommer is survived by her parents, Sheryl Simpson and husband Robert of Caney, OK; sisters, Kaylea Simpson of Caney, OK, Shannon Whitworth and husband Jeff of Houston, TX; niece, Lexie Whitworth of Houston, TX; grandmother, Irene Merritt of Coalgate, OK; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Sommer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sam and Jo Burke, Lloyd and Dora Rawlins; grandfather, Robert Merritt; uncle, Gary Rawlins; aunt, Judy Lane.
