A long time resident of Oakdale, CA. She was born May 23, 1940 in Coal County, Oklahoma to Juel and Willie (Stockton) Jones. Married Duane Lopes on November 17, 1978 in Jamestown, CA. Passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 in Oakdale, CA. at the age of 77 years, 10 days.

Education: Sondra attended Sandridge School Coal County in her early school years. The family moved to Sunray, Texas where she completed her high school education. She attended Modesto College where she earned a nursing degree.

Occupation: She worked as a surgical nurse at Oak Valley Community Hospital for 45 years.

Church Affiliation: She was of the Baptist Faith.

Preceded in death by parents Juel Jones and Willie Joe (Stockton) Jones. Brothers: Juel E. (Butch) Jones and Baby Jones. Sisters: Gwendolyn Sue (Jones) Sprouse, Beverly Jean (Jones) Wilson, Rebecca Ann (Jones) Washburn.

Survived by her husband Duane Lopes of the home. Daughters: Ronoda Denise Morgan Silva of Eugene, OR and Carrie Ann Lopes of Redding CA. Sons: Rick Dean Morgan and wife Sheila of Oakdale, CA., Kenneth Scott Morgan of Oakdale, CA. and Phillip Robert Lopes and wife Daphne of Manteca, CA. Grandchildren: Brock Fishel, Heather Silva, Jessie Morgan and Emily Sanders, Ashley Gomes and husband Chris, Shaun Morgan and wife Jennifer, and Devin Lopes. Great grandchildren: Teagan and Ian Nolan, Ty and Eli Morgan, and Colton Morgan. Sisters: Gail Harjo and husband Darby of McLoud, OK., Marie Eddings and husband Bob of Coalgate, OK., Theresa Niimi and husband Dennis of HI., along with numerous nephews and nieces.

She spent most of her spare time working in the yard; she was an excellent seamstress, making prom and wedding dresses for friends and relatives. She loved doing crafts and making quilts. She also loved spending time with family and friends.

Service: Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 10:00am. Family night will be Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 3-7pm at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Henry Raven.

Interment: Graveside service will be Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2pm. Centrahoma Cemetery- Centrahoma, Oklahoma by Brown's Funeral Service Coalgate. Officiating will be Rev. Lyle Shipley. Casket bearers: Duane Lopes, Bob Eddings, Morris Eddings, Thomas Fritz, Johnny Fritz, Brian Ridgway.
