Stephen Lewis Rector, age 58, a lifelong Atoka County  resident of the Lane area, was born on Friday, November 20, 1959, to Mart "Lee" Houston and Vera Joyce (Hearrell) Rector, at Lane, OK. Stephen passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Oklahoma City, OK. He attended Lane Grade School and graduated from Atoka High School in 1978.
Stephen was a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Highline business. He married Patricia Ann Fortenberry on December 16, 1985, at Paris, TX. Steve was of the baptist faith. He was baptized at Harmony Baptist Church. Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, flowers, and being with his grandbabies.
Steve is survived by his children, Stephanie  Wilson and husband Michael of Atoka, OK, Valerie Whisenhunt and husband Andrew of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Jesse Wilson, Ali Wilson and Malerie Whisenhunt all of Atoka, OK; special daughter, Cara Brooks of Atoka, OK; mother of his children,  Patricia Rector of Lane, OK; fiancé, Annie Mae Lewallen and family of Lane, OK; brothers, Bobby Rector and wife Laura Elaine of Lane, OK, Marty Rector and fiancé Candi Fortenberry of Lane, OK, Curtis Rector and wife Betty Ann of Atoka, OK; sisters, Peggy Sue Thompson and husband Leck David of Sparks, OK, Nancy Hall of Lane, OK, Donna Jean Goodson of Lane, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Vera Rector; sister, Katherine Lousie Tomlinson; brother in law, : John Goodson.
