Susan Campbell, age 60, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Monday, December 16, 1963, to JR and Shirley Jean (Lyons) Bates, at Slaton, TX. Susan passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Atoka, OK. She graduated from Gordon High School with the class of 1980. Susan was a horticulturist. She married Joseph Campbell on September 6, 2007 at Bartlesville, OK. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2015.
Susan enjoyed celebrating with Choctaw Nation, working with plants and rescuing animals.
Susan is survived by her brothers, Timothy Bates and Tommy Bates; sister, Amanda Holmes, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, JR and Shirley Bates; husband, Joseph Campbell; sisters, Cheryl Thorne, Lavonda Hastey.
