Teresa was born on April 7th, 1961, to James Lester Powell and Artie B. (Henderson) Powell in Atoka County. She passed away on November 19th, 2024, at her home surrounded by family and friends.Teresa attended grade school at Harmony and graduated from Atoka High School in 1979. She married the love of her life Steve Hyatt on September 1st, 1979. Teresa and Steve had 45 wonderful years together. Teresa was a faithful member of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. Teresa worked two separate times for Wyrick Lumber Company totaling 37 years and for about 10 years at First Bank in between. Teresa loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family, working in her flowerbeds, having Steve take her shopping and collecting all kinds of trinkets. She had a big heart and always wanted to make sure everyone knew how much she cared.
Teresa is survived by her husband Steve Hyatt of the home in Atoka; Son, Randy Hyatt and wife Amy of Atoka. Son, Jered Hyatt and wife Jessica of Durant. Daughter, Jamie Pilkington and husband Chase of Edmond; Grandchildren: Tanner Hyatt, Chloe Hyatt, Kodi Hyatt, Jaymison Flynn and wife Ellie, Skyler Pilkington, Grayson Pilkington; Great-Grandchildren: Wylie Jack Hyatt, Bella Sears, Tucker Sears, Fletcher Flynn; Brother: Dennis Powell and wife Reynella of Bentley; Mother-in-Law: Nancy Hyatt of Atoka; Sister-in-Law: Cindy Hyatt of Seffner, FL; Nieces: Sabrina Williams, Chelsie Powell, Jade Philipoom, Jasmine Philipoom; Nephew: Tyler Powell; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Artie B. (Henderson) Powell, Father-in Law, Marion Hyatt, Granddaughter Morgan Flynn.
