Terry Lynn (Lahman) Burkhalter, age 66, a longtime Caddo, OK resident. She was born on Monday, April 7, 1958, to Paul and Patricia Jane (O'Hern) Lahman, at Ft. Worth, TX. Terry passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at her home in Caddo, OK surrounded by her loved ones. She started First grade at Ft. Worth, TX and next semester moved Caney Public School and attended there until her graduation with the class of 1976. Terry was the Valedictorian of her graduating class and went on to attend SOSU and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a minor in Education. Terry was a social worker for Atoka DHS for over 33 years before retiring in 2011, also worked for the Atoka Tag Agency. She was also a roping secretary for 25 years at Sand Hill Arena and UCross Arena, she was so talented and was known in local circles at the Best. Terry was a wife, mother, grandmother and the glue that held it all together. She married Kim Burkhalter on Friday, June 15th, 1979 at Caney, OK. Kim and Terry had many adventures going on lengthy vacations to Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, and several other places. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage before her passing. Terry was a member of Midway Church which in nondenominational, she was a christian and a child of God. She raised two sons and was such a giving and caring mother. She loved cooking for the family on the holidays, and watching the granddaughters play ball. She was just a "gorgeous soul sent from God." Terry was also the best deer meat cook, wow, how she could cook and enjoyed playing Bingo at Choctaw Casino every Wednesday. In Kim's words, "She was an Angel sent from God."
Terry is survived by her husband, Kim Burkhalter of the home in Caddo, OK; sons, Leith Burkhalter and wife Randi of Caddo, OK, Kirby Burkhalter of Caddo, OK; granddaughters, Emma Burkhalter, Elaina Burhkalter, Dylan Burkhalter; grandsons, Gunner Burkhalter, Tanner Burkhalter; along with all grandkids from Caney, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Patricia Jane (O'Hern) Lahman; sister, Teresa Lahman.
