Thelma Lee (McIninch) Howard, age 91, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, September 4, 1929, to Eldon B. and Leola (Williford) McIninch, at Atoka, OK. Thelma passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Atoka, OK. She attended Atoka Mamie Johnson and graduated from Atoka High School. Thelma also attended business school in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Thelma worked at the movie theater in Atoka as a teenager then later on worked for Judge Fischel in the court house. She also was a bookkeeper for Albert Furr Motor Company from 1953-1982. In 1984 she started doing bookkeeping for her son's body shop. She married Floyd Gene Howard on Saturday, June 5th, 1954 at Durant, OK. They celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage before Floyd's passing in 2018. Thelma was an active member of Harmony Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She was a artist that loved painting, embroidering and sewing. She also loved her cats, but her favorite thing to do was spoil her son Ronnie and grandson Derek. Thelma is survived by her son, Ronnie Howard and wife Shirlene of Atoka, OK; grandson, Derek Howard of Atoka, OK; nephew, Richard Kent and Pam of Fort Worth, TX; niece, Billie Marie Dake of Fort Worth, TX; great nephews, Caleb Kent of Fort Worth, TX, Kevin Dake and wife Krystal of Fort Worth, TX; great niece, Meredith Bolton and husband David of Fort Worth, TX; bonus granddaughter, Shanda Albertson of Moore, OK; cousin, Louis Williford of Florida; along with many dear and loved friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon B. and Leola (Williford) McIninch; husband, Floyd Gene Howard; sister, Christene Kent; nephew, Bruce Dake
