NAME: Thomas Leon Redfern, age 87, a Palestine, TX resident, who was raised in the Kingston, Wapanucka area.

BORN: He was born on Friday, August 29, 1930, to Jimmie Lee and Mary Alice (Hilburn) Redfern, at Mead, OK.

PASSED AWAY: Leon passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Palestine, TX.

AGE:  87 years, 1 month and 9 days.

EDUCATION: He attended Wapanucka School.

OCCUPATION: Leon was a Heavy Equipment Operator in the oilfields.

MILITARY: Leon proudly served his country in US Air Force during WWII.

MARRIED: He married Ocie Juanita Wallis on Thursday, October 30th, 1947 at Gainesville, TX. They had 54 wonderful years together until her passing on December 12, 2001.

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Leon was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Texas Guard.  In his younger years he enjoyed building model airplanes. Leon always wanted to learn how to fly and enjoyed flying with his son Lynn. He was an ameteur radio operator and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bluegrass music.
