Timmoth "Tim" Winford Combest, age 80, a longtime Tushka, OK resident. He was born on Tuesday, August 29, 1944, to Leonard and Oma Lee (Combest) Hilliard, at Lewisville, TX. After his mother's death at his birth, he was adopted by his grandmother, Nina Mae Combest, whom he dearly loved. Tim passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at his home in Atoka, OK surrounded by his loved ones. He graduated from Tushka High School with the class of 1963. Tim was a maintenance worker for Atoka County, Atoka Truck Stop and the Lane Research Center until his retirement in 2006. Tim proudly served his country in The US Army, joining in July 1963 and served in Korea and Vietnam. He was discharged from the service in July 1967. He married Elizabeth (Dickey) on February 1, 1964 at Tushka, OK. After his discharge from the Army, he and Liz moved to Lewisville, TX, where they lived until 1974, when they moved back to Tushka with their two daughters, Janine and Stephanie, who he dearly loved. Tim was a wonderful husband and father, and he adored his girls. Tim and Liz enjoyed over 60 years of marriage before his passing. Tim was a Christian and a member of Tushka Baptist Church. After his family, his passion was working on his property with his old Ford 8N tractor, his pride and joy.
Tim is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Combest of the home in Atoka, OK; daughter, Stephanie Combest of Durant, OK; sisters, Gearldean Hall and husband Jerry of Tushka, OK, Minnie Gammon of Tushka, OK, Dovie Walker and husband Kenneth of Tushka, OK, Linda Combest of Tushka, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Oma Lee (Combest) Hilliard; daughter, Janine Combest; grandmother, Nina Mae Combest; sister, Joyce Beck; brother, Dwayne Combest.
