Tommie Lee "Monroe" Brantley, age 90, a Bixby, OK resident, formerly of Marion and Monroe, LA, was born on Wednesday, April 10, 1929, to Prentice Eugene and Irma (Pace) Brantley, at Marion, LA. Monroe passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his home in Bixby, OK. He attended school in Linnville, LA. Monroe worked from age 15 in the pipeline industry, was a sideboom operator early in life, worked his way up to General Superintendent and estimator 30 years for Reading and Bates Construction., where he was a pioneer in the horizontal directional drilling of pipelines. Monroe worked in pipeline inspection in his last 10 years where he loved every moment he was on the right of way with a total of 73 years.  He married Rita Ann (Jones) in 1986 at Pasadena, TX. Monroe was a Christian, non denominational. He attended Victory Christian Center in Tulsa. Monroe loved to duck hunt, deer hunt, fish, was an avid golfer (until the last few years) and loved to work.

Monroe is survived by his wife, Rita Ann Brantley of the home; daughter, Wanda Jean Simmons of West Monroe, LA; step son, Joel Lake and wife Michelle of Bixby, OK; grandchildren, James Lee Brantley of Farmerville, LA, Sean Harrell and wife Wendy of Farmerville, LA, Chad Simmons and wife Sabrina of Bastrop, LA, Thad Simmons and wife Robin of Thomaston, AL, Rachel Lake of Bixby, OK, Mitchell Lake of Bixby, OK, Matthew Lake of Bixby, OK; great grandchildren, Garrett Simmons, Chase Simmons, Bradley Simmons, Elliot Simmons, Brittany Harrell, Natalie Harrell; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Monroe is preceded in death by his parents, Prentice Eugene and Irma (Pace) Brantley; former wife, Vona Mae (Georgia Ann) (Brown) Brantley; daughter, Iris Brantley; son, Jimmy "JR" Morris Brantley; brother; sisters; granddaughter in law, Andre Harrell.
