Vada Lee (Holmes) Watson, age 79, a Kenefic, OK resident, a lifelong Hopewell community resident, was born on Wednesday, July 16, 1941, to William "Bill" and Juanita (Rich) Holmes, at Ada, OK. Vada passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Denison, TX. She graduated from Caney High School in 1959. Vada was a housewife and homemaker, worked a few years at Coleman School's lunchroom. She married Doyle Watson on Wednesday, November 7th, 1959 at Durant, OK. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before her passing. Vada was a member of Voca Baptist Church where she served as secretary for several years. Her happiest times were being outdoors checking on their cattle and all her animals, visiting with family and friends and being involved in her church activities.
Vada is survived by her husband, Doyle Watson of the home in Kenefic, OK; son, Russell Watson of the home in Kenefic, OK; daughter, Linda (Watson) Flynt and husband Joe of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Holli Flynt of Norman, OK, Katie Graham of Norman, OK, Maggie Graham of Norman, OK; adopted grandchildren, Tyler, Mackenzie and Ethan Tipton of Hopewell, OK; brothers in law, Clifford Watson and wife Cathy of Caney, OK, Curtis Watson and wife Linda of Durant, OK, Wayne Watson and wife Brenda of Coleman, OK; sister in law, Judy Watson of Durant, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Vada was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Juanita (Rich) Holmes; in laws, T.G. and Iva Watson; brothers in law, Harley Watson and wife Kathlene, McArthur Watson; nephews, Tony Watson, Keith "Pig" Watson; nieces, Paula Watson Huffman, Kayla Watson, Morgan Flynn.
