PASSED AWAY: Velma passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Hartshorne, OK. AGE: 92 years, 6 months and 4 days. EDUCATION: She attended school in Pittsburg County, graduated from Ashland High School, attended Poteau Jr. College and received her Master Degree in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. OCCUPATION: Velma was a reading specialist at Atoka schools for 27 years. MARRIED: She married Clarence Vieux on January 7, 1943 in McAlester, OK. He preceded her in death in 2007. CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Velma was a member of First Baptist Church in Atoka, and a member of Atoka County Retired Teacher Association. She loved to sew, write, and read.
