Verba Rae Duckworth

Verba Rae Duckworth, age 78, a longtime Caney, OK resident. She was born on Thursday, March 20, 1947, to William Jake and Sally Emmelyne (Matthews) King at Sacramento, CA. Verba passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Durant, OK. She graduated from Norte Del Rio High School in Sacramento, CA and then went on to college. Verba was a sales rep for Cooper B-line, Gates & Rubber Company, and Texas Instruments. She married Dennis Joe Duckworth on Friday, October 15th, 1976 at Minden, NV. They celebrated over 27 years of marriage before Dennis passed on August 26th, 2004. Verba attended Caney First Baptist Church. She enjoyed the piano, puzzles, used to often knit, needlework and traveling, especially to see the grandchildren.

Verba is survived by her sons, William James Brewster of Caney, OK, Michael Lynn Brewster of Reno, NV, Darrin Joe Duckworth and wife Pamela of Bentley, OK; grandchildren, Isabella Ann Brewster of Caney, OK, Jasmin Brewster of Reno, NV, Adrian Brewster of Reno, NV, Cheyenne Duckworth of Livingston, TX, Katlyn Duckworth of Kingsland, TX, Rafferty Brown of Bentley, OK; great granddaughter, Clara Duncan of Kingsland, TX; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Verba is preceded in death by her parents, William Jake and Sally Emmelyne (Matthews) King; husband, Dennis Duckworth; daughter, Amy Duckworth.
