Vickie Lynn Gibson, age 64 , a lifelong Stringtown, OK resident, was born on Tuesday, November 5, 1957, to Rolla "R.E." and Juanita Belle (Manion) Welch, at Coalgate, OK.
Vickie passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Stringtown High School in 1975 and then went on to attend SOSU. Vickie was a housewife and homemaker and was the rock of her family. She married Rickey Derel Gibson on Monday, January 3rd, 1977 at Atoka, OK. They celebrated 18 years of marriage before his passing on September 2, 1995. Vickie was a Christian and attended Dayspring Church for several years. She loved to read, work puzzles, liked to fish and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Vickie is survived by her daughter, Nikki Gibson of Stringtown, OK; son, Ryan Gibson and wife Ashley of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Alexis, Keauno, Summer, Kira, Maya, Marcus, Emily, Patrick; great grandchild, Kaylis Gibson; siblings, Sherry Lewis and husband John of Sanger, TX, Kathy Plyler and husband Greg of Durant, OK; special niece, Penny Hamilton and husband Jim of Oklahoma City, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Rolla "R.E." and Juanita Belle (Manion) Welch; son, Rickey Dustin Gibson; husband, Rickey Derel Gibson; brother, Wayne Welch; sister, Nora Houston; nephews, Eric Lewis, Alvin Henry.
