Vickie Lynn (Jackson) Thacker Howard, age 78, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Tuesday, April 10, 1945, to J.B. and Betty Jane (Stewart) Jackson, at Borger, TX.  Vickie passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at her home in Atoka, OK. She graduated from High School at Phillips, TX with the class of 1963. Vickie worked for JC Penney in Oklahoma City 12 years and Wal-Mart in Atoka, OK, Ft. Worth, TX and Hugo, OK 15 years, Dollar General 10 years and Caney Flea Market from 2014 to present. She married John Edward Thacker who preceded her in death and later married Richard Edwin Howard on Sunday, October 14th, 1977 at Bethany, OK. They celebrated 37 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 2, 2014. Vickie was a member of Caddo Church of the Nazarene and was currently attending First United Methodist Church in Atoka. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, helping others and loved being with her family.
Vickie is survived by her sons, Jahn David Thacker of Atoka, OK, Jimmy Thacker and wife Alesha of Stringtown, OK; grandchildren, Jonathan Thacker of Durant, OK, Jerrod Thacker of Durant, OK, Hayley Johnson and husband Matt of Hollis, OK, Brandon Thacker and wife Sarah of Durant, OK; 5 great grandchildren; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Betty Jane (Stewart) Jackson; 2 husbands, John Edward Thacker, Richard Edwin Howard; sister, Barbara Blankenship.
