Age 85, an Atoka area resident since 1987 , formerly of Hallsville and Longview, Texas BORN: Born on December 5, 1924 to Clarence Southerland and Gertrude (Ledlow) Southerland at Marshall, Texas PASSED AWAY: Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Atoka Memorial Hospital AGE 85 Years 3 Months AND 0 Days EDUCATION: Victor attended Hallsville Public Schools at Hallsville, Tx. graduating in 1942. MARRIED: He married Betty Jones on March 9, 1968 at Albuquerque, N.M. OCCUPATION: Victor worked 20 years for Sandia Military Base and was later owner of a self employed contracting business in utility construction. He retired in 1986 AFFILATION: Victor was member of Victory Life Church of Atoka. Victor was also a veteran of W.W. 11, where he served his country in the U.S. Army. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting but as a granddad, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. SURVIVED BY Wife Betty Southerland of the home in Atoka Children Keith Southerland of Atoka Vicki Simpson and husband Scott of Ada, Ok. Grandchildren Paige Pasquali, Skylar Pasquali and Whitni Simpson, all of Ada Zak Southerland and Jake Southerland of Atoka Sister; Evelyn Whitehurst of Longview, Tx. Sister-in-law; Mary Southerland of Hallsville, Tx. Brother-in-law; Roy Whitehurst of Longview, Tx.
