Viola Kay Lang, 75, of Atoka, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on July 16, 2026.
Viola was born on October 18, 1950, to James Raymond Ables and Nedra Burnie Ables. She attended school in Boggy Depot and graduated from Tushka High School in 1968.
On December 30, 1968, Viola married the love of her life, J.D. Lang, in Atoka, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Viola dedicated many years working at the bank doing paperwork. Later, she began a a career in truck driving, a profession she enjoyed with J.D. until retiring in 2012.
Viola was a faithful member of Full Gospel Church. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She also loved sitting outside, visiting with friends, and above all, she had a lifelong love for horses.
She is survived by her devoted husband, J.D. Lang; her son, Joe Lang; her grandchildren, Lauren Brojakowski and husband Derek of Atoka, OK, Nellie Lang of Atoka, OK, and Jude Lang of Atoka, OK; and her great-grandchildren, Kylen, Kymber, Emersyn, Blake, and Cinch; a handful of very close cousins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, James Raymond Ables and Nedra Burnie (Keeton) Ables, and her brothers, Ennis Ables, James Ables, and Richard Ables.
Viola will be remembered for her kind heart, her strong work ethic, her unwavering faith, and the deep love she had for her family. She leaves behind many treasured memories that will forever be held close by those who knew and loved her.
