Viola (Horton) New, age 78, a McAlester resident. She was born on May 16, 1942, to Billy Roach and Bessie Jewell (Chastain) Horton in Coal County, OK. Viola passed away on May 28, 2020 at McAlester, OK. She attended Lime Stone Gap and graduated from Olney High School. Viola also attended East Central University studying nursing. She worked as a nurse and retired OKDHS & from Blue Cross & Blue Shield as a provider representative. Viola enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading her bible but her greatest treasure were her grandchildren.
