Virgie Virginia (Callicoat) French, age 86, an Oklahoma City, OK resident, was raised in Bentley. She was born on Sunday, March 8, 1936, to Eathern and Minnie May (Prater) Callicoat, at Bentley, OK. Virgie passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at her home in Oklahoma City, OK. She attended Bentley School. Virgie was a homemaker. She married Amos French on Monday, August 20th, 1951 at Durant, OK. They spent 63 wonderful years together before his passing in 2014. Virgie was Pentecostal, she was affiliated with Living Waters Tabernacle. She loved fishing, gambling, and taking care of her grandbabies, she loved to have a house full.
Virgie is survived by her children, Alfred French and wife Dalinda of Moyers, OK, Carolyn Jones and husband Richard of Atoka, OK, Dianna Thomas and husband John of Choctaw, OK; grandchildren, Mickel French and wife Tiffany of McComb, OK, Mark French and wife Kristie of McComb, OK, Gerald Jones and wife Amanda of Calvin, OK, Gary Thomas and wife Cara of Corona, CA, Brian Thomas and wife Sandra of Jones, OK, Ryan Howard and wife Tulsa of Maud, OK, Dillon Howard of Maud, OK; great grandchildren, Danni Jo Jackson of Shawnee, OK, Brady Garcia of McComb, OK, Jaggar Garcia of McComb, OK, Dalton French of McComb, OK, Megan French of McComb, OK, Madilyn Jones of Calvin, OK, Cheyenne Thomas of Jones, OK, Landon Thomas of Jones, OK, Kayson Pope of Oklahoma City, OK, Luke Howard of Maud, OK, Aubrey Howard of Maud, OK;great great grandchildren, Whinley Conley, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded by her parents, Eathern and Minnie May (Prater) Callicoat; husband, Amos French; daughter, Dorothy French; siblings, Leonard Callicoat, Cecil Callicoat, Alvie Callicoat, Foy Callicoat, Anna French, Faye Walker, Irene French
