Virginia Charlene Lloyd, age 74, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was reared in Oakland, OK and moved to Atoka in 1966 where she resided the rest of her life. She was born on Saturday, November 16, 1946, to Charlie and Bertie Mae (Dobson) Young, at Oakland, OK. Charlene passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Atoka, OK. She attended Oakland Public School and graduated from Madill High School. Charlene worked at Madill Dairy Queen during high school, worked for Setleff Hunt Hardware as a sales clerk, retired from Atoka Schools as Assistant Librarian, and was also a teacher's assistant and tutor. She married Jim Lloyd on Thursday, August 4th, 1966 at Madill, OK. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before her passing. Charlene was a baptist and also attended the Old Bennington Presbyterian Church. She was very active in Choctaw Senior Programs, loved sewing, cooking, was an avid reader and collector, loved to go shopping and spend time with the grandchildren.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Jim Lloyd of the home in Atoka, OK; daughter, Sandra Rhae Heskett of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Blake Heskett of Atoka, OK, Julia Rhae Heskett of Dallas, TX; sisters, Wilma Day of Shay, OK, Sue Cryer and husband Alvin of Oakland, OK, Shirley Green of Mannsville, OK, Bessie Parrish of Georgetown, TX; brothers in law, Anthony Lloyd of Bokchito, OK, Ervin Lloyd of Zion, IL, Roscoe Lloyd of Hephzibah, GA; sister in law, Mary Ida Chalakee of Norman, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Charlene was preceded in death by her son, John Lloyd; parents, Charlie and Bertie Mae (Dobson) Young; in laws, Charlie H. and Lee Etta Lloyd; paternal grandparents, Lee and Jennie Young; maternal grandparents, Bill and Bessie Dobson; brothers in law, Sam Day, Tommy Green, David Parrish, John E. Lloyd.
