OBITUARY NAME: W.E. "Dude" Flowers, age 82, a Scurry, TX resident formerly of Farris, OK. BORN: He was born on Tuesday, October 04, 1932, the eighth child of Robert Lee and Mary Ellar (Randolph) Flowers, at Farris, OK. PASSED AWAY: Dude passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Scurry, TX at his residence. AGE: 82 years, 11 months and 2 days. EDUCATION: He attended school at Lone Pine and Center Point before going onto Atoka High School where he played baseball and was an award winning basketball player. OCCUPATION: Dude as a young man moved to Wichita, KS where he worked for Beech Aircraft. But the hard winters soon prompted him to move to San Francisco where he had some family. He made his living working with race horses at a local track. However California did not agree with him either so he picked up and moved to Dallas, Tx, where while working at a riding stable, met his wife Phyllis Ann Weage (pronounced as "Wedge"). Dude worked for the City of Dallas driving an asphalt road repair truck. Later Dude opened his own business with a single dump truck. He opened an asphalt repair service before getting into concrete. In 1979 he opened a concrete delivery service specializing in small yardage. Dude retired in 1995, later moving to Kaufman, TX before moving onto Rosser, TX. MARRIED: He married Phyllis Ann (Weage) on June 18, 1958 at Dallas, TX. They had 57 wonderful years together. CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Dude was a member of the Mason Lodge for many years. He enjoyed training horses, participating in trail rides. He drove a miniature Overland Stage Coach at store grand openings and other events giving rides as part of the fun and he attended the Rafter J Cowboy Church in Terrell, TX. SURVIVED BY WIFE OF 57 YEARS: Phyllis Ann Flowers of the home in Scurry, TX CHILDREN: Susan Flowers Wilson of Grand Prairie, TX Michael Dean Flowers and wife Noelle of Austin, TX Sandy Flowers Pack and husband William of Scurry, TX SISTER: Juanita Patterson and husband Roy of Seattle, WA BROTHER: Coy Flowers and wife Donna of Arlington, TX BROTHER IN LAW: Robert Weage of Waxahachie, TX GRANDCHILDREN: Clint Flowers and Molly Flowers of San Marcus, TX Amanda Flowers of Austin, TX Jonathan Baker of Scurry, TX Brandon Wilson of Grand Prairie, TX Amber Baker and fiancé Ryan Miller of Scurry, TX Morgan Flowers of Austin, TX Kimberly Wilson of Grand Prairie, TX Marcus Pack and wife Jordan of Kartman, TX 11 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Bryce Flowers, Brayden Flowers, Colt Flowers, Levi Medford, Kaydyn Baker, Emma Miller, Rusty Miller, Rowdy Miller, Ralph Miller, Reese Miller and Cannon Pack HONORARY GRANDCHILDREN: Chad Slayton, Autumaus Mitchell, Bull Fahle along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
