Obituary

Wallace Martin McGee, age 59, a lifelong Atoka, OK County resident, was born on Monday, October 27, 1958, to Earl and Mary Ann (Kemp) McGee, at Stringtown, OK. Mary Ann actually named her child Wallace Martin McGee however, when his birth certificate came, it was just the opposite, Martin Wallace McGee. Wallace was named after his grandfather, Martin Kemp. Wallace passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Atoka, OK. He attended Stringtown Elementary and graduated Stringtown High School in 1977. Wallace played baseball and basketball while attending school.  Wallace's first job as a senior in High School, was a Medication Aide at Hubbard's Nursing Home. He loved making money and putting it towards his cars. Wallace then started working for Bill Harvey Chevrolet, he stayed with this company as it changed names three times to Estep Chevrolet, and lastly, Crossroads Chevrolet, for 33 years.  In 1985, Wallace and Janice (Crawford-Shields) became a couple and were married on Sunday, September 19th, 2004 at Atoka, OK. They got to spend 32 years together before his passing.  In his spare time, he loved listening to music, especially the sultry voice of Anita Baker and doing crossword puzzles. He loved family outings, challenging family or friends to a game of dominoes or spades, working on his cars and keeping them clean. Wallace's cars were always nice and shiny, he believed in taking care of his cars. Everyone always made comments on how nice his cars looked.
Wallace is survived by his wife, Janice McGee of the home; mother, Mary Ann McGee; son, Cameron Crawford and wife Bobbi; daughters, Takhay Newberry and husband Michael, daughter Sylvia Kosima Hopson; 11 very special grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth McGee Sr., Edward McGee, Marvin Eugene McGee, Lewis McGee, Phillip McGee, Steve McGee, Winston McGee, Todd McGee; sister, Wilma McGee;
along with numerous brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Wallace is preceded in death by his father, Earl McGee; son, Donald Collins Jr; brothers, Timothy Wayne McGee, Ronald McGee, Dennis McGee, and an infant brother; sister, Queen Esther McGee.
