Wayne Wesley Mayo, age 63, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Monday, September 25, 1959, to Harvey and Mary Joyce (Settlemire) Mayo, at Dalhart, TX. Wes passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Henryetta, OK. 63 years, 1 month and 5 days. He graduated from Atoka High School. Wes was a farmer, rancher, carpenter, truck driver, and worked in the oilfield. Wes was a member of Bentley Baptist Church. He enjoyed working cattle, spending time with family, and taking care of his chickens. Wes loved playing dominoes, riding bulls in his younger years, gardening, and being in the outdoors, but most of all, he enjoyed his grandchildren.
Wes is survived by his mother, Mary Joyce (Settlemire) Mayo of Calera, OK; sons, Wayne Wesley Mayo Jr. of Soper, OK, James Ricky Mayo of Soper, OK; daughter, Lori Dorwart and husband Trent of Bremerton, WA; grandchildren, Julie Mayo, Wayne Mayo and wife Kaleigh, Jaime Mayo, Nicholas Mayo, James Mayo, Eli Mayo, Jasmine Mayo, Wyatt Dorwart; siblings, Melvin Mayo and wife Debi of Mustang, OK, June Martin of Kiefer, OK, Steve Mayo of Bentley, OK; expected great grandchild, Ryan Andrew Mayo; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Wes was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Mayo Jr.; grandparents, Harvey Sr. and Florence Mayo, Lewis and Clara Bell Settlemire; brother, John Mayo; brother in law, Benny Martin; cousins, Keith Mayo, Cheyenne Mayo; aunts, Ethel Jean Davis, Merlene Blankenship, Eunice Garland Dwiggins.
