Wilburn Shields, age 87, a McAlester resident, was born on January 27, 1934, to Jacob and Alice (Perry) Shields, at Wardville, OK. Wilburn passed away on February 6, 2021 at Tulsa, OK. He attended & graduated from Indian Boarding Schools and later attended Haskell College in Lawrence, Kansas. Wilburn moved to California in 1959, where he worked and retired from Robertshaw Thermostat Company as a laborer for 37 years. He joined the Military and served in the ARMY from 1956-1958. Wilburn married Janie Bear in 1961 & later married Barbara Davis in 1988. They both preceded him in death. Wilburn was a generous kind hearted man who loved his family, fishing, attending Church, going to gospel singings and meeting with friends on Wednesdays at the McAlester Choctaw Community Center for Senior lunch. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

4- Grandchildren:  Josh, Nashoba, Tuchina & Jessica

He has many nieces and nephews whom he loved, cherished and held a special place in his heart
