William Ray Griggs, age 47, a Caney, OK resident, a lifelong Atoka County resident. He was born on Tuesday, March 18, 1975, to Robert Clay and Barbara Ann (Shelton) Griggs, at McAlester, OK. William passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Lane, OK. He graduated from Atoka High School and went on to attend SOSU were he was a member of the Sigma Ta Gamma fraternity. William was a general contractor. He worked for Shawn Fincher Construction building steel buildings. William was raised of the Baptist faith. All he wanted to do was spend time with family, especially his nieces and nephews.
William is survived by his mother, Barbara Ann Griggs Of Atoka, OK; sisters, Jennifer Purcell and fiancé Steve Sheffield of Lane, OK, Kimberly Tomlinson and husband Shannon of Broken Bow, OK; nieces, Kristen Goodwin and fiancé Zach Warren of Atoka, OK, Kaitlin Hestily and husband Zach of Durant, OK; nephews, Jayson Goodwin and wife Amber of Chickasha, OK, Tyler Tomlinson and wife Sara of Ft. Smith, AR, Garrett Tomlinson and fiancé Ashtin of Norman, OK; great nieces, Jayleigh Goodwin, Jayden Goodwin, Peyton Tomlinson, Ella Fern Tomlinson, Finley Diaz, Jacee Diaz; great nephews, Sawyer Tomlinson, Jayce Goodwin; along with other relatives and many dear friends.
William was preceded in death by his father, Robert Clay Griggs.
