OBITUARY NAME: William "Bill" Bruce Malone, age 94, an Atoka, OK resident. BORN: He was born on Thursday, July 18, 1918, to John Herbert and Josie (Gilmore) Malone, in Collinsville, TX. PASSED AWAY: Bill passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in Atoka, OK. AGE: 94 years, 10 months and 25 days. EDUCATION: He was his high school class president and graduated from Atoka High School in 1936. Bill was awarded a football scholarship to Oklahoma A&M which is now OSU. While earning his Bachelors Degree he was a member of the ROTC. Bill was then sent to Ft. Benning as a Second Lt. OCCUPATION: After retiring from the U. S. Army, Bill worked at the Atoka postal service. MILITARY: Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. MARRIED: He married Emily Marion Forbes on March 7, 1941 in Columbus. GA. CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Bill was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Atoka where he was a Sunday School teacher. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Shortly after returning from the his military service, Bill helped design and build the Atoka Golf Course by the city lake. SURVIVED BY DAUGHTER: Beverly Ogle of Spring, TX. GRANSON: Bruce Ogle and wife Christine of Spring, TX. BROTHER: Leroy Malone of Hillsboro, TX. BROTHER-IN-LAW: Lt. Col. William Albert Forbes of Washington, D.C. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many dear and loving friends.
