William Eugene Waggoner, age 86, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Monday, January 21, 1935, to William and Virginia (Redd) Waggoner, at Hugo, OK. William passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Atoka, OK. He attended Star middle school and was certified in refrigeration and air conditioning through Commercial Trade Ins. in Chicago, IL on November 8th, 1955. William worked as a Diesel Mechanic with Southwest Tractor. William proudly served his country in The Army during the era of Korean conflict. He married Emiline Williams on July 13th, 1966 at Tishomingo. They spent 47 years together before his wife passed on October 29th, 2013. William was a Christian. He loved to hunt, fish, and ride 4-wheelers with his best friend, Ted LeFlore. William enjoyed walking with his dogs, Blackie, Big Dog, Pooty, and Cowboy, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
William is survived by his daughter, Sharon Rowton and husband CR of Tushka, OK; granddaughters, Lori Walker and husband Shannon of Nashville, TN, Emily Rowton of Durant, OK; grandson, Chris Rowton of Tushka, OK; great grandsons, Luke and Brody Rowton; brother, Billy Charles Waggoner of Finley, TN; bestfriend, Ted Leflore; dogs, Blackie, Big Dog, Pooty, and Cowboy of the home; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Waggoner; mother, Virginia Towry; stepdad, Red Towry; brothers, Bobby, Dale, Tom, Jim, Fred, and John Waggoner, Robert Towry; sister, Louise Brackett; beloved grandson, Johnny Rowton.
