OBITUARY
Wilma Jean Johnson, age 87, a Coalgate, OK resident. She was born on Wednesday, April 26, 1939, to Edgar Melvin and Neta Cecil (Culp) Turner, at McAllen, TX. Wilma passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at her home in Coalgate, OK surrounded by her loved ones. She started in McAllen, TX then Seminole and then 7th grade at Caney where she graduated. Wilma was a home health provider for 10 years and was a business owner for much of her life, Western Auto and Auctions in Atoka with her husband Dale. She married the love of her life, James Dale Johnson on Tuesday, September 6th, 1955 at Atoka, OK. They celebrated over 71 years of marriage before her passing. Wilma was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, helping those in need, taking care of the birds, was a big OKC Thunder fan, never missed a game on tv, was in volleyball and bowling leagues in her younger years, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Dale Johnson of the home in Coalgate, OK; daughters, Denise Roberts and husband Michael of Coalgate, OK, Debbie Blackmon of Coalgate, OK, Dawn Wall and husband Joe of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Michael Gray and wife April of Oklahoma City, OK, James Gray and wife Jami of Atoka, OK, April Strange and husband David of Olathe, KS, Dustin Blackmon and wife Andi of Salem OR, Kristen Wall of Edmond, OK, Dylan Wall of Edmond, OK, Shelbi Wall of Edmond, OK; 13 great and great great grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Roland of Atoka, OK, Wanda Alexander of Atoka, OK; brother, Calvin Turner of Searcy, AR; brother in law, Joe Johnson and wife Anne of Everett, WA; sister in law, Denvel Johnson of Caney, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Turner and Neta Miller; brothers, Melvin Turner, Ronnie Turner, Kennith Turner; sisters, Edna Miller, Kathleen Miller, Gearldine Crow; sisters in law, Fannie Johnson, Mae Johnson, Geneva Golden, Naomi Watson, Loueen Turner; brothers in law, Charles Johnson, Clifford Johnson, Clarence Watson, Johnie Golden, Ovis Miller, Bill Crow, Ray Alexander, Wayne Roland.
