Wilma Gail (Magby) McMurrain-Enochs, better known as "Little Mama Gail" passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at O.U. Medical Center in Oklahoma City, at the age of 67 years and 11 months.
She was born, October 17, 1951, in Atoka, the daughter of Jackie Dee and Wilma Loucille Fugate Magby.
Gail was a member of the Penn & A Church of Christ in Atoka and loved the study of Biblical history.
She graduated from Moore, Oklahoma High School in 1969 and enrolled at David Lipscom College in Nashville, Tennessee for one year. She attended the University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt University for two years. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma at Norman with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law Enforcement Administration on December 19, 1986. She was working toward her Masters Degree.
May 12, 2012, she graduated from Southeastern State University at Durant with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish. She studied to be an Ambassador for our great nation, but her health situation was a constant setback to her dreams.
She was a Senior Case Manager for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for 15 years, which included work at Mabel Bassett Correctional Center, Oklahoma City, on death row at Oklahoma State Penitentiary, McAlester, and Mack Alford Correctional Center at Stringtown.
She worked 4 ½ years as a Behavioral Health and Rehab Specialist with the Atoka County Counseling Services.
Gail could communicate in six languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Hebrew, and Sign Language. Her talents included playing the Piano, Clarinet, Flute, and the 6 and 12-string hollow body Guitars.
God blessed her with a beautiful singing voice. She sang with the Grand Ole Opry in Gatlinburg, Tennessee in her youthful years.
She was born with the inherited disorder Osteogenesis Imperfecta that causes multiple fractures, blindness, deafness, and other health problems. She suffered through more than 400 fractures throughout her body.
She was married to Wendell Garnett McMurrain on March 6, 1976. After his death, she married Victor Martin Enochs on August 22, 1987.
Preceding her death were her paternal grandparents, Walter and Leona (Gattenby) Magby and her maternal grandparents, Reuel and Viva (Armstrong) Fugate; her father Jackie Dee Magby, and her brother Jackie Robin Magby.
Survivors include her husband Victor Martin Enochs; her mother, Wilma Loucille Fugate Magby; two sons, Wade Garrett McMurrain and wife, Kelly and their two daughters, Morgan and Kacey, of Yukon, Ok; Jacob Reuel Enochs of Atoka; one stepson, Shane Enochs and his wife, Adeline and their two daughters, Isadora and Lola of Clinton, Ok; One stepdaughter, Melissa Enochs Funk of Oklahoma City and her two boys, Aden and Levi; one adoptive daughter, Krista (Maxwell) Shaefer, Dallas, Texas. Gail was a loving mother to several guardianship children, and many dear relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers were: John R. Fugate, Eugene Magby, Leonard Enochs, Shane Enochs, Keith Fugate, Jack DeBorde, and Morgan Magby.
Active pallbearers were: Kevin Norris, Bryan Norris, Ben Bishop, Bruce Jobe, Howell Magby, and Gary Fugate.
