Obituary Winfield Scott "Sonny" Hammond, age 70, a McAlester, OK resident, was born on Tuesday, July 08, 1941, to Robert Seth and Lavada Josephine (Doshier) Hammond, at Lane, OK. Scott passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Tulsa, OK. He attended Lane Elementary school then graduated from Atoka High School in 1959. Scott then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University before being drafted into the U. S. Army. Scott retired from Civil Service at the McAlester Ammunition plant. Scott proudly served his country in The Army. He married Linda Fay (Lee) on March 14, 1981 at McAlester, OK. Scott was a member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester. He enjoyed traveling, eating at good restaurants, and spending time with his grandchildren. Scott is survived by his wife, Linda Fay Hammond of the home in McAlester, OK.; daughter, Kelly Lee Hampton and husband Dewayne of Wilburton, OK.; twin grandsons, Luke and Landry Hampton of Wilburton, OK.; sister, Roburtta Green of Lane, OK.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Seth and Lavada Josephine (Doshier) Hammond; siblings, Udell (Hammond) Jones, Robert Thomas Hammond, and Gary Dean Hammond; brother-in-law, Bobby R.
